Teaching children listening can be as easy as being a good role model to your children. Make a point of listening to your child when they are telling you something.

Show them the skills of good listening by stopping to focus on the speaker, looking at the person talking and acknowledging what they say by nodding or smiling.

One good one is by purchasing stories on CD and allowing them to listen to them - they develop their skills in listening and it also helps foster imagination as they form the images of the stories in their heads.
